WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are currently searching for an energetic and collaborative Hadoop Administrator to join our Production Operations team. This individual will work in our all-cloud environment; a rapidly evolving and expanding system architecture utilizing Big-Data across highly distributed data collection and messaging tiers.  You’ll work closely with our Engineering organization, from product idea, through the product lifecycle, and onto automating and supporting a global, 24/7 highly available production operation.

 

Our focus is building and automating all facets of our systems and hosting infrastructure, enabling the Tealium to iterate and innovate in the fast-paced Unified Marketing space.

 

Responsibilities/Qualifications

YOUR DAY TO DAY:

  • Maintain, tune, monitor and evolve our high-volume, 24/7, multi-tenant Big Data infrastructure running Hadoop/YARN/Spark/Hive/PrestoDB on AWS/EMR
  • Effectively troubleshoot production issues (utilizing monitoring tools and log files) to identify corrective actions
  • Work with the team to develop and deploy monitoring and alerting architecture, and implement monitoring/logging solutions
  • Responsible for overall system and infrastructure operations in our Cloud environment
  • Troubleshoot complex issues in a timely manner as necessary to maintain the performance and stability of all Web Operations

 

WHY YOU ARE THE PERFECT FIT:

  • You offer thorough architectural understanding and experience administering Hadoop/YARN, Spark, and Hive clusters
  • 2+ years experience troubleshooting and maintaining production Hadoop/Spark ETL pipelines
  • You have a strong working knowledge of UNIX/Linux system administration
  • You bring experience with automation scripting using either Bash, Ruby or Python
  • You have enterprise experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) management (EC2, S3, DynamoDB, EMR, Kinesis, Redshift, Aurora, RDS)
  • PrestoDB experience or knowledge would be a huge plus
  • Experience with relational databases is preferred
  • Experience administering Docker and related orchestration systems (ECS, Kubernetes) is preferred
  • Experience with Continuous Integration tools (CI), Jenkins preferred
  • Experience with distributed Source Code Management tools (SCM), git is preferred
  • Experience with Splunk and/or SumoLogic a plus
